2008 has been an exciting year. We saw Barack get elected, my son started high school (and my daughter the big third grade), my husband became a firefighter, my photography business continued to grow and our health has been good. These aren't meant to sound corny; this is what is important. Health and happiness. And beauty. One of my resolutions is to enjoy the world around me more. To stop and smell all those roses I photograph.
I'm looking forward to a 2009 full of even more opportunities to live life to the fullest... and of course to photograph it! Happy New Year!
We had a pretty good rain shower the other night and in the morning I went out to inspect my garden. The last rain drop to dry up was on my Iris' that are starting to bloom!!! I love all these spring time flowers!!!
I was out in my garden last week and noticed a good sized grasshopper sunning himself on one of our palms. He was kind enough to stay put while I ran inside to get my camera. Actually he was so busy sunning himself and cleaning his antenna that I don't think he noticed me... at first. Once he peeked open his eye, he froze and held his little hand still forever. I think he even gave me the stink-eye! I took a few shots but wanted him to put his hand down. (Hand? Paw???) Finally he realized I wasn't going anywhere... and that I wasn't going to hurt him... and he relaxed long enough for me to get one or two more. Okay, so the question is, what the heck is that thing over his mouth? Another arm? And look at those teeth! Yikes!
