We went to the coolest toy store yesterday! It was like walking into the best time machine ever! (Well, except I couldn't tell my younger self to invest in Apple.) It is called 'Big Kid', a collectable toy mall and retro store in Sherman Oaks. First of all, when we walked in, they had vintage TV shows playing on vintage TV's from the 50's. Then everywhere I looked, were memories! Tiddly-winks, vintage Mr. Potato head, old metal toys, old Halloween costumes (I forgot what we used to wear.... cheap plastic face masks held in place with elastic and thin, plastic custom clothes.)They had figurines, tons of bobble heads, like an old Ron Cey bobble head! They also had some newer toys and figurines, but the collectable type, like Pee-Wee Herman. Sweet! There were sooooooo many things I wanted but I behaved and let the kids pick something (You know I'm going back by myself!!!) My son picked out the classic Groucho Marx fake glasses/nose/eye brows/mustache face and my daughter picked out the game below. Although the web site is cool, it has nothing on it per se to buy. You must make a pilgrimage. You could get some primo holiday gifts here that your friends and family would love you for. Email me and I'll send you my list! hee hee hee
